The findings of Analysis had the scales fallen from my eyes and made me realize just how reliable IMPAC is. In short, good as well as bad points about the operations were explained to us by having them quantified. For example, the rate of operation at one of departments was found 40% for such reasons of ; 1) poor management of manpower (25%), 2) problems with part supplies (40%), 3) improper layout of machines (15%), 4) others. This findings alone was found worthy enough to proceed with the Project.
Then we entered into the Phase 2. As for the Cost Savings achieved, it’s sure that tendency for productivity has improved and total manhour has reduced even though they are not so clear yet until the actual amount ($) realized is reflected on our books.
The actual data show that the improvement reached 100 % and the overtime reduced by 75.7%.
In summary, I was somewhat skeptical before the execution, but now I am extremely happy with the results at this final stage of Project. Currently, I consider proceeding to the Phase 3 which perpetuates what’s been achieved and exploring the way to further develop them. I am grateful for IMPAC who successfully guided our employees to be equipped with such a capability that they can now challenge such advanced stages.
T.Uesugi, Managing Director, Union Sangyo Malaysia Sdn. Bhd
They had done their job well which something at first we hardly can believed. As we knew our goal for the project is to improve productivity by 20% compared to the year 2000. I can say here that IMPAC team had been successful, not only had achieved the goal but we almost achieved double than that.
I believe that without good knowledge, good skills, self confidence, hard working and higher responsibility this goal could not be achieved. The good thing that what we have learned from this project is the method and technique, which already implemented is simple and can be accept by workers. From the lesson that IMPAC had taught, I can now understand that before product could be produced successfully, behaviour and attitude of the production worker need to be tuned to our requirement. Its proven IMPAC had not only improve our current system but to the extent of also changing towards positive thinking of or section leader in the production line.
Md Saibani Bin Dahlan, Assistant Factory Manager, Union Sangyo Malaysia Sdn. Bhd
At the beginning of the project, there was a lot of resistance from our managers and supervisors, because many of our team has been with the company for more than 20 years and preferred to work with our existing system. After the implementation of IMPAC project, many of our managers and supervisors realize that the new
management system is actually helping them to work more efficient and give better results.
During our 37 calendar week project, we have achieved:
• 26% increase in our productivity in December, 19% on average throughout the project.
• 4% decrease in our average electricity consumption.
• 49.9% recovery at the end of the project
• Weekly savings guarantee has been met 8 times during the project.
One of the biggest achievement of this program in my opinion is the increased control provided by our new management system. We can now use a reliable data to make important decision and take action accordingly. Our coordinators are showing good improvement after working closely with IMPAC. As a result, I can confidently rely on them for continuous improvement within the company even after the projects ends.
Jesen Irwen, Director, PT Guna Kemas Indah
The implementation of the IMPAC 10000 was headed by Ms Jerene Chee. During the last several months the team did a professional job interfacing with our employees, in particular our supervisory personnel in the areas of Production and Maintenance. We feel that your ACCESS Communication program workshops where our supervisory as well as mid-management have learned important skills in supervision. The training given has motivated them to supervise better and the IMPAC 10000 has given them better capabilities to plan, control and follow-up their area.
During the project, we have regularly received reports and also personal statements of project status and saw the improvement in the production as well as maintenance system, the supervisors' receptiveness to changes and in incorporating and applying a system to their jobs.
The main objective of this program was meant to be a cost reduction drive, and through the above, has resulted in:
1. Improvement in material utilisation by 18.5%
2. Reduction in maintenance cost by 28.6%
3. Labour Cost reduction by 10.92%. Major contributor to this reduction is in the overtime cost.
The project will soon be completed, and at this time, we can say that your work has well fulfilled our expectations. With the capability and energy of the whole IMPAC team, especially Ms Jerene Chee and Miss Rajuna Binti Abdul Rahim, they have done their work. The savings guaranteed in the agreement has exceeded the promise several times and we can also see the improved financial impact in our financial statements.
Peter C. Smerling, Managing Director, SCA Hygiene Malaysia Sdn. Bhd
Our people, especially the first line supervision, are now equipped with sound management fundamentals and had learned to utilize performance indices to confront poor performances. The installed controls made our people more aware of the cost implications of lost time, rejects, rework, and scrap, thus making them more proactive in addressing such problems.
Productivity has improved dramatically during the course of this project, from 60% last year to an average of 90% to date.
The ACCESS training sessions had aided the managers, supervisors, and group leader realize, to a great extend, their roles and responsibilities in the management chain. The one on one coaching sessions had helped a lot in transforming theories and concepts to practical on the job application.

Recommendations
Rajuna was the trainer assigned to the project I was leading in Penang, Malaysia. She was able to effectively manage and deliver the training program designed to support the implementation of the productivity and quality improvement initiatives for the company. Furthermore, she ensured that what ever the participants learned during the classroom were being practiced in the shop-floor and she does this by regularly engaging the participants of her classes. She's also very systematic and organized with her work, and, one of the more proactive individuals I've worked with.
Alvin Villegas, Project Director, IMPAC Project
I have been in the same study group with Rajuna and she has shown high professionalism to us from her point of view and her thoughts. I love her calm tone when she speaks and her humble personality. She shows her ability to learn and absorb at a very quick pace as well.
Happy and love to be surrounded by her. She is also a very supportive team member to me and I would highly recommend you to get in touch with Rajuna.
